Dr.-Ing. Christian Rieck of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, who is supervised by Prof. Tsotsas (Thermal Process Engineering at OVGU) and co-supervised by Prof. Bück (FAU), received the EFCE Award 2021 in section Product Design & Engineering. The awarding session will be held at the 13th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 6th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology (ECCE & ECAB 2021) in Berlin, Germany, from 20 – 23 September 2021.

Starting May 2021, Prof. Bück joined the Editorial Board of the Open Access journal “Mathematics”. He will serve for the next two years in the journal’s section “Computational and Applied Mathematics”. “Mathematics” is a Q1 journal published by MDPI. In its spring session, the German Research Foundation (DFG) approved the creation of a new priority programme “SPP 2364 — Autonome Partikelprozesse” headed by Prof. Nirschl of KIT, Germany. Prof. Bück is serving as a member of the programme committee formulating and implementing the vision of the priority programme.

The international journal “Drying Technology” (published by Taylor & Francis) has awarded to Prof. Bück an award recognising his continued contributions to the journal and the field of drying technology.
Prof. Bück is one of the recipients of Particuology’s “Outstanding Reviewer Award”, honouring his efforts in maintaining scientific quality of the journal.
PARTEC is one of the world’s major scientific congresses for particle and bulk solids technology. Every three years, it provides an international forum for R&D in new technologies. It runs concurrently with POWTECH, the leading trade fair for the mechanical processing, analysis, and handling of powder and bulk solids.
In 2019 PARTEC will take a holistic view of particle technology and will explore a range of processes including particle formation, particle characterization, measuring methods and agglomeration, formulation and coating.
